DevOps Engineer

Job Description


Our client is a well-known leader in the lottery industry by providing innovative thinking and exciting, revenue-generating games and services to customers in the last decade. His full suite of digital solutions includes world-class mobile application development, interactive games, player engagement platforms, iLottery systems, and services, plus a variety of software solutions to help lotteries manage their operations.

 

Job purpose    

We are looking for DevOps Engineer who has a strong self-directed work ethic and make it happen. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team that has a culture of open communication, collaboration, and innovation.
To fulfill your role you will need good experience in building and evolving distributed applications, APIs, and fault-tolerant cloud-based solutions.

Your Duties and Responsibilities    

  • Setup/maintain IaC (Infrastructure as a code) on AWS  using Terraform
  • Work with Kubernetes and Helm  
  • Design and implement effective CI/CD Pipelines that will enable state of the art code integration and testing from multiple repos along multiple environments both on-prem and in the cloud
  • Design and implement a cost-effective, fast, fault-tolerant infrastructure and application layer leveraging common and proprietary cloud components and services 
  • Analyse existing infrastructure and provisioning and come up with targeted improvements that foster security, availability, performance and scalability of production systems
  • Balance on-prem vs cloud-based approaches to achieve efficiency and effectiveness. The client (employer) has a hybrid cloud model (on-premises and AWS) 
  • Support deployments through go-live and beyond
  • Work closely with development teams. 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience    

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps
  • Experience in AWS
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code automation – Terraform
  • CI/CD tools (Bamboo/Jenkins)
  • Hands-on experience in designing complex CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Jenkins, GitLab etc.)
  • Knowledge of Maven, Gradle, Ant, Make, or the alternatives
  • Hands-on experience in enabling automated testing strategies using DevOps tools and approaches
  • Very good presentation, interaction, and communication skills along with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional organizations
  • Be able to work independently and establish new processes and approaches, not just follow the rules
  • Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Good personal time management
  • Fluent in English 

 

Advantage   

  • Knowledge of different database technologies (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) 
  • OS – Linux 
  • SCM – Git/bitbucket/gitlab 
  • Experience in working with Atlassian products 
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical certifications.
