Who are we?
Founded in 2014, Mobile Wave Solutions has carved out a reputation as a trusted partner in nearshore software development. With a focus on building long-term, collaborative relationships, the company supports clients across diverse industries in scaling teams, developing tailored solutions, and modernising their tech infrastructure.
But we are more than just a software provider – we act as a hub for innovation, where engineers play an active role in the strategy behind business outcomes. Our culture thrives on trust, flexibility, and continuous growth.
Here, our professionals aren’t just writing code – they’re navigating complex technical tasks, contributing to larger strategic growth, and developing their craft in an environment designed to nurture ambition and creativity.
Our Hiring Process
We’d like to introduce Gabriela Alexandrova, Software Development Manager, and Plamen Bradvarov, Talent Acquisition Expert – two key team members who actively participate in the recruitment process. In this piece, they are going to answer a few key questions to clarify what we value in our future candidates, the steps they go through, and how our candidates can best prepare for the interview.
What kind of people does the company usually look for – in terms of experience, knowledge, skills & technologies?
Plamen: At MWS our roles vary so we typically look for individuals who are experienced but remain tech-agnostic—those who aren’t tied to a single technology stack and are open to using whatever tools best solve the problem at hand.
We are tech-agnostic at MWS, meaning we adopt technologies that best suit our clients. You can take a look at just some of the technologies we have worked with below:

Having experience with these can be a plus, but we value curiosity and enthusiasm most of all. Our engineers are constantly learning new technologies to address our clients needs. This means they encounter new programming technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, expanding their own skillset & optimising our client solutions simultaneously. It is therefore essential to have a strong drive for solving technical challenges, as is the ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a fast-evolving environment.

We are just as serious about our work as we are about our work environment at MWS. We look for people who thrive in collaborative settings and contribute positively to the team culture. Strong communication, a willingness to share knowledge, and a team-first mindset are key traits we appreciate.
What are the main steps of the job application process at Mobile Wave Solutions and how long does the process take from application to final decision?
Plamen: You can apply through the platform or directly via our website. The entire hiring process for one candidate spans over 10 -15 working days, and the period may vary depending on the workload of the hiring team.
We prioritise providing meaningful and comprehensive feedback to every candidate we have been in contact with and those who have gone through any part of our process.
How many interviews are conducted, and which managers are candidates most likely to meet?
Gabriela: Our hiring process includes a few stages so that both sides get to know each other better.
We start with an initial HR screening, followed by an hour and a half technical interview with our team. The final stage is a client interview, since we work in hybrid teams.
Throughout the process, candidates will most likely meet the engineering managers they’ll be collaborating with, giving them a great opportunity to get a feel for the team dynamic and project environment.
How can I make a positive impression in my interview?
Gabriela: We’re looking for genuinely proactive people who are eager to learn – those who don’t wait for direction but take initiative and stay curious.
It’s important to me that candidates aren’t afraid to face challenges or step outside their comfort zone, because that’s where real growth happens.
Being a true team player is essential – we value collaboration over ego, and believe that open, honest communication is what keeps us moving forward together.
I’d say a lack of enthusiasm is a bit of a red flag for us. It’s totally fine not to know everything – no one does – but if someone doesn’t show any curiosity, drive to learn new skills, or any interest about the role, that’s usually a sign that we wouldn’t be a great fit.

Share a common question you ask to assess whether a candidate will fit into the team
Plamen: I like to ask candidates to walk me through a time when they improved something, whether it was a technical solution, a work process, or even a skill gap they identified in themselves.
Gabriela: I always like to ask candidates about the challenges they’ve faced and how they went about resolving them – it gives great insight into their problem-solving mindset. And of course, in the era of AI, I’m curious to understand how they’re using it to support their day-to-day work. It’s always interesting to hear the different ways people integrate AI into their workflow!
What would you recommend to candidates to prepare for an interview at Mobile Wave Solutions?
Plamen: Come prepared with specific, real-life examples from your career that you are proud of. People tend to remember stories more than just statements, so examples really help represent you. And remember—an interview isn’t a test, so try to relax and please, be yourself!
