DevOps Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement effective CI/CD Pipelines that will enable state of the art code integration and testing from multiple repos along multiple environments both on-prem and in the cloud
• Design and implement a cost-effective, fast, fault-tolerant infrastructure and application layer leveraging common and proprietary cloud components and services 
• Analyze existing infrastructure and provisioning and come up with targeted improvements that foster security, availability, performance and scalability of production systems
• Balance on-prem vs cloud-based approaches to achieve efficiency and effectiveness
• Support deployments through go-live and beyond

Required skills

• 1+ year working experience on DevOps or equivalent position
• Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals and solid Linux/Unix system administration skills
• Experience in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, or Shell
• Good understanding of AWS services and components as well as alternative solutions (ECS, AWS Fargate, EC2, S3, AWS Kinesis, Apache Kafka, AWS Gateway)
• Knowledge of Terraform, Cloudformation or the alternatives for IaC
• Hands-on experience in designing complex CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
• Knowledge of Maven, Gradle, Ant, Make or the alternatives
• Hands-on experience in enabling automated testing strategies using DevOps tools and approaches
• Good understanding of tools and approaches that will ensure robust monitoring of cloud infrastructure and effective cloud services and components troubleshooting (Kibana, Graphite, Prometheus, DataDog, CloudWatch etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of Docker and or its alternatives
• Very good presentation, interaction, and communication skills along with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional organizations
• Be able to work independently and establish new processes and approaches, not just follow the rules
• Enthusiastic, self-starter with a positive personality is a must
• Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Good personal time management
